Reprise I

In Pointé de Couture, Rose enlightened us on what lies beneath Versailles… a room where magic is made…

“le Pointé de Couture”.

Water drips through the pipes of a shadowed sewing chamber. Remember the friendly rat that balances along the ceiling boards above as fabric is cut, stitched, and shaped by unseen hands. In Reprise I, enchantment is stripped of illusion and returned to its origin: labor, repetition, and craft. Drawn from the subterranean world of Pointé de Couture, the film repositions the fairy godmother not as a figure of effortless magic, but as the embodiment of the work itself.

Time presses forward in the steady rhythm of a ticking clock, while the imagery also refuses to remain still… rotating, shifting, and breathing in continuous motion. A dialogue-free reimagining of Cinderella, Reprise I reveals the labor behind transformation. In this space, myth is not inherited. It is made.

This film is part of an ongoing series of works expanding the visual language of Pointé de Couture.
